Leap Valley is a public open space and a site of Nature Conservation Interest in Downend, north-east of Bristol, close to the M32. It is owned by South Gloucestershire Council and managed by the Friends of Leap Valley. It is one of a series of countryside and open spaces that link Emerson’s Green with the valley of the River Frome, creating a wonderful wildlife corridor. Leap Valley is also a gateway to the Forest of Avon – an area of over 200 square miles of land in and around Bristol gradually being transformed with the help of communities into places for wildlife, access, leisure and learning.
You can walk through the valley on an easy-access trail which you can join at any of the entrances to the site. The map above shows the network of paths in the Leap Valley.
